yes, we are employed

even though we never talk about it - yes, we do have jobs. and something a little exciting just happened at mine. the first thing i have to show for my work with public impact is a series of papers that was just published by the north central regional educational laboratory (forgive me if you already got the email). these papers examine the "restructuring" options under no child left behind - the (ideally) drastic changes that school districts have to use if one of their schools fails to meet student achievement standards too many years in a row.

really, you don't have to read them - they're designed for education leaders and are a tad boring - but the website gives you an idea of what i do, anyway. lots of research and writing that's supposed to help schools do a better job.

we hope.

Congratulations on your publications! And a very nice glob..

Very neat and full of most friendly photos.

You can see a recent essay of mine here:

in case you are wondering who the heck is writing all this nonsense.

No follow-up quiz required -

I am developing a theory of education which calls for radical and absolute re-formation.

The classroom, should the classroom remain (and that's doubtful), will become a free-for-all space.

This theory remains in the formative stages.

This place (school) must be completely independent of the State.

The United States shall be abolished, of course,

taken back by the people. Knowing

as we do that the people and the government are NOT the same.

No child left behind is a travesty.

But we'll leave it at that.

And I take full responsibility for all seditious remarks.

It comes with the job.
